I grew up in a family that went to church. I went to Sunday School, vacation bible school, and attended church weekly. but I didn’t understand what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus until the age of 26 when I was saved. Even at 26, I didn’t fully understand that God would forgive all sins, especially one like abortion. I knew he would forgive me for cursing, gossiping, and so-called “little” sins, but I hid in shame of the big sin of abortion.
Many years later, I learned of a biblical healing journey for people who had an abortion in their past. During this journey, I dealt with my choice and dug into the Bible to truly comprehend that Jesus died on the cross for all my sins, even that abortion. Oh, the freedom the Cross has brought to me!
I then joined a small group at Crossroads. We told our Creation - Fall - Redemption - Restoration stories about what God has done in our lives, and this was part of mine. I don’t want to hide in my past any longer, and I hope my story can help even one person to understand that Jesus is in the business of forgiveness and grace, for even “big” sins like abortion. God sees all sin the same and Jesus died for all sin. I want to help people find healing and freedom from abortion as I have been restored by Jesus Christ. -Becky C.
