Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...
Welcome to the Weekend-Follow Up This is the group part of the Bible Challenge, so your questions are based on specific Bible passages from the weekend message. Each week, your group will discover what God might be saying to you, and how you can respond through a group discussion.
What’s your biggest pet-peeve? When you see it, how do you usually respond?
What stood out to you most from this week’s message? Why did that spark for you?
When do you feel close to God? What emotions, actions, or thoughts help you feel close? What about when you don’t feel close?
How do you respond to God wanting to be close to you? What makes that challenging or easy to receive?
What makes it difficult to recognize or acknowledge sin in your life?
How does it feel to hear your sin doesn’t have to keep you away from God?
Even though Jesus ripped the curtain God created that acted as a barrier between us and Him, we still create new curtains all the time. Where is there a curtain currently separating you from God?
What’s one way you can start to believe that the curtain has already been torn, and lean into being close to God this week? Share your plan with the group.
Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “Jesus, thank you so much for ripping the veil apart. Thank you for making it possible for us to know you in new and incredible ways. Give us the discernment to see the barriers we create that separate us and the strength to tear them down. We love you. Amen.”
