OVERVIEW
Head to the epicenter of the Civil Rights Movement to explore racial history in America and gain a new understanding of God’s call on us to bring his kingdom to earth. This trip addresses important issues that continue to impact communities in this historic region, and you’ll learn about the root causes of these injustices. While looking back in time, you'll catch glimpses of the hope of the future. This is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of at-risk communities while also learning about the city’s rich Civil Rights history. You’ll visit historic sites and meet with Civil Rights leaders to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of social justice and activism. Hands-on service opportunities paired with learning will help you be an agent of change in your own community.
IMPACT
You will work to support communities still struggling to recover from recent natural disasters and economic downturns. You will be immersed in top notch museums, hear from living legends, learn from local guides, and walk in the footsteps of the Civil Rights giants that lived and dreamed on the same corners and streets you will be visiting. GO on this journey of service and learning.
