This 100 Day reading plan will get you started reading from both the Old and New Testaments, helping you to meet God in various pieces of His story.
Just for simplicity our plan keeps a pace of one chapter for each time you read. Feel free to alter the pace for you:
After you read the day’s chapter, it’s a good idea to spend a few minutes reflecting on it and talking with God about what you read. We think it’s a great idea to start any engagement with the Bible by praying a simple prayer, asking God to be present in your time.
We know every day has different constraints so here are some ideas for how you might go about connecting with God if you have 5,10 or 20 minutes.
Write down the verse, idea or question that most stood out to you today.
Write down one truth you see about God or your life from the reading.
Pick one of these:
Memorize the verse (make it your home screen or put up a Post-It somewhere)
Obey what you heard (God’s word is alive: sometimes we just know what we need to do. Do it.)
Share it with someone else.
Pray a prayer that’s just one honest sentence to God.
Write down this answer: What do you most need to talk with God about today? Maybe it’s something that sparked from the reading. Or maybe just a big thing weighing on you.
Choose a Psalm to help you pray. The Psalms are a book of ancient prayers, found in the middle of the Bible. Check out the below chart of different types of Psalms, and pick out the one that seems to connect with that topic.
Use that Psalm as your prayer to God: Say out loud any of verses that sound like something you might want to say to Him today.
Spend 1-2 minutes of silence listening for God. Trust Him to communicate back to you in his own time and way: waiting on Him is an act of trust.
Begin by choosing a worship song to sing as a prayer to God.
Next, take a few minutes and write down things that are on your mind right now in your everyday life. What’s weighing you down?
Take another few minutes and write down anything that stood out to you from the Bible chapter you read or your worship time.
If it was confusing or sparked a question, decide how to handle it. (Maybe ask a friend or read a commentary. Don’t let it go...sometimes God piques our interest for a reason!)
Write down the answer to:
What might God be trying to communicate to you right now?
What do you need to do to respond to him?
Pray (out loud or written) about this. If you need some help with words to say, check out the below breakdown of various Psalms: Read one out loud to make it your own prayer, slightly altering the words if you need to.
Choose one verse from your reading that you will take with you through your day today. Memorize it or put it in a visible spot.

**Special Note for past Daily Readers… we know some of you loved certain things about the Daily. Here are some recommendations based on what you might be feeling:
“I just liked a quick way to start the day off on the right foot.”
If this is you then use our Crossroads App and do the “Today Experience” each day. It will take you through small ways to begin each day well.
“I love getting my reading delivered to my inbox every day.”
If this is you then you should check out the reading plans listed here. Bible Gateway provides many different reading plans that can be delivered directly to your Inbox every day.
“I appreciated getting a little perspective on what I was reading.”
If this is you then we recommend doing our 100 Day Reading Plan and investing in a basic Bible commentary. You can buy them on Amazon if you want to hold a book in your hands. Or here’s a list of free online commentaries. (It’s always good to read from a couple over time...you’ll see differences in how each approaches the Bible. One might work better for you than others.)
